Organize and manage your finances online

Mint.com offers an effective way to manage your personal finances on the web. The service puts all of your accounts in one place, allowing you to monitor activity very closely.

Essentially, Mint.com acts as your own personal accountant. The online consolidates your online accounts from other financial sites into one place, meaning that you can view savings, mortgages, investments, insurance, etc. all from the same place. Best of all, Mint.com lets you easily track the evolution of these accounts over time, and even allows you to set up ‘Goals’ to help you achieve certain financial targets within a given period.

There are a few really useful features within Mint.com, and the app can notify you of potential money issues, such as an unpaid credit card bill, insufficient funds in a current account, etc.

Mint.com also includes a Find Savings section, which offers a quick way to search multiple companies for quotes for loans, insurance, savings accounts, etc. Be warned though, many of the results are actually sponsored, so you may be offered ‘amazing’ deals that aren’t as good as your current ones.

Of course, security is a common concern when signing up for a site such as Mint.com. However, there have been no confirmed breaches to date, and the site doesn’t ask for personal details such as your name, address, or social security number.

If you’re looking for a simple and safe way to manage all of your finances, Mint.com offers a great solution. Unfortunately, it’s only available in the US at the moment, however.
