Multitask with Helium’s free floating broswer

Helium is a floating browser that keeps your content visible even when switching tasks. The browser is designed for users that like to multitask and lets you have a floating window with web content while you work on other applications. A customisable translucency mode makes moving between your work and media content seamless.

Features

Designed with programmers in mind, Helium lets users work while maintaining the ability to look at other content in the background. You can watch movies, TV and other content on your browser while it is in the background. It also lets you watch tutorials, read documents, or collaborate using social apps while working. Helium also means you do not have to resize windows while trying to manage multiple applications and windows on your screen. When translucent, the browser does not interact with your mouse so you can click, scroll and drag behind the floating content. To use the browser again, simply click on the icon in the dock.

Conclusion

The simple interface without an address bar is seamless and minimal, meaning less visual distractions when the browser is running in the background while you work. At the same time, this means less functionality when using the browser. Fluid, a similar product, features a menu bar and access to your Favourites and History. It also has standard browser controls like back, forward and refresh. When you click away from Fluid, the toolbar disappears and only the video content is visible. Even with less functionality, Helium is a great solution to view web content while working on code or other tasks.
