Free online physical duel game

Paunch is an action video game by Kozhakov. It is a free-to-play game that pits you and another player in a one-on-one duel. However, unlike other fighting games, you only have boulders and your large sumo wrestler body as a weapon.

There are two ways you can play Paunch. You can fight against a random opponent in the Duel mode or invite friends from your list in a sparring match. You have 12 lives, and the player with the most number of kills wins. However, the game lacks variation, and you will find it repetitive after playing for some time.

Kill or be kill

Paunch is a one-on-one dueling game that pits you and another player in a match inside a procedurally generated caveman-era map. The heart of the game is in its chaotic yet amusing combat. As mentioned, the map is filled with rocks, and you can kill your opponent by flinging boulders at him. You can also get near enough to land a well-timed punch on the head.

Each player has 12 lives, and whoever lands the most kills wins. If you get knocked down, you will spawn again in an explosion from one of the rocks. However, note that each battle has a time limit. If neither player dies after the time ends, nobody wins any point. If your opponent disconnects before the match is over, you earn every point equivalent to how many kills you got.

There are two modes to the game. Dueling puts you in the matchmaking system and randomly pairs you with another player. However, as with most online games, the matchmaking of Paunch is hit-or-miss. Besides dueling, you can also spar with your friend to practice your combat strategy. However, more than the unique combat, the game does not offer anything else. It is also far from bug-free, which affects your matches.

Not your typical duels

All in all, Paunch offers a unique and funny dueling experience. The battles here are very random and unpredictable as you use rocks and physical attacks to defeat the enemy. Not to mention, the characters you play are sumo wrestle-like. The matches are also short, and the combat is fluid. Not to mention, the game is free. However, the gameplay is repetitive and can be boring in the long run.
