Robot-themed arcade platformer for PC

Robot Jet Action is a free arcade game for PC that comes from indie developer Tomasz ‘Carrion’ Mielnik. It’s an action platformer that features a robotic theme and retro pixel-style graphics. In it, players will control a jetpacked protagonist and save the world from an evil robot invasion.

Robot Jet Action joins Tenebra and Space Firehawk (C64) as titles that were specifically created for the Commodore 64 and Commodore 128 classic 8-bit home computer systems. Its level design was inspired by some of the most iconic classic games of decades past and is an homage to their legacy.

Save the Retrogame Land

Robot Jet Action takes place in Retrogame Land, a peaceful place where retro games reside. One day, this tranquility is under threat by an invading evil robot army, looking to steal their diamonds, coins, stars, and other precious gems. Someone has to stop them by reaching these treasures first before they do. This is where you come in, controlling a little robot equipped with a jetpack.

The controls in Robot Jet Action are simple. You’ll control your character using a joystick. Press the fire button to launch your jetpack. The longer you hold it, the higher you can go. Hop across 35 levels spanning 5 planets, each with a different retro game theme to it. Collect as many treasures as you can while avoiding obstacles and overheating your thrusters.

What’s more, each planet has one extra life that you can collect along the way. You’ll need them as you face the final bosses waiting for you at the last level of each location. One thing that the game lacks that could be added in a future update would be a high score ranking list. Likely played in groups, it will encourage some nice competition among friends.

Thrusters to 100%

All in all, Robot Jet Action is a charming arcade platformer game that pays homage to the classic great of old. The gameplay is challenging, but the controls are simple, and each planet has a retro game theme to it that fans will love and appreciate. If you have time to spare, definitely give this one a try. Highly recommended.
