A mod that brings the Middle East to Mount & Blade: Warband

Ancestors: 2112 BC. An Eastern Bronze Age Mod is a free mod for Mount & Blade: Warband that enables the player to control Middle Eastern cultures during the bronze age. The mod allows players to experience Middle Eastern culture in the game’s open-world RPG format.

As it’s a fan-made mod, there is no support offered by the Mount & Blade franchise developers. Also, the developer of this mod is a single person, meaning any support they can offer will be limited. The developer has also released their 3D models for other people to use.

An open-world RPG war game

The mod does not change the fundamental gameplay of Mount & Blade, so players can expect the same core experience that the base game provides. It is an open-world RPG, where different cultures fight to control the land in which the game is set. There are little-to-no story-driven elements to the game, which instead relies on realistic action to appeal to its players.

Bringing the Middle East to life

The premise of this mod is that it replaces the fictional in-game regions and cultures with those of the Middle East from around 2,000 BC. These cultures include Egypt, Sumeria, Nubia, Akkad, Syria, Ancient Anatolia, and Aegean.

While Ancestors is far from a historical recreation, it does provide a fun way to learn some of the histories of the Middle East. However, the mod’s developer has stated that development may be slow, so new features should not be expected at a fast pace.
