2.5D side-scrolling pixel-art adventure game

Between Horizons is an immersive and narrative-driven adventure game that combines sci-fi elements with a storyline that is ultimately determined by the decisions that the player makes.

Due to its side-scrolling 2.5D nature, as well as its intentionally retro graphics, Between Horizons appears similar to other science fiction platformers, such as Iji. The primary difference involves the depth of the plot, as well as how the player interacts with different environments in order to delve deeper into mysterious scenarios.

Unraveling a conspiracy

Stella is 24 years old, and she has just become the head of security on a ship based for distant stars known as Zephyr. However, it soon emerges that an onboard conspiracy exists. It threatens to unravel the peace aboard this vessel, placing the fate of humanity in jeopardy.

A blurry moral compass

As opposed to mere side-scrolling action, users will have to make a series of increasingly difficult choices as they progress. Some of these are morally questionable, and there is no guarantee that the results will be advantageous to the player or the crew of the Zephyr.

Cyberpunk settings

The pixel-based neon art that has come to partially define Between Horizons is a nice touch for fans of the Cyberpunk genre. It also provides an homage to earlier story-driven games of the late 1980s and 1990s.

Living with the consequences

The graphics of Between Horizons can be compared to those found within Cyberpunk 2077 and other futuristic RPGS. However, the fact that players will be forced to make questionable decisions as the narrative unfolds will provide a sense of immersion that not all platforms can provide.
