Experience multiplayer horror with White Noise 2
Many indie games and titles from smaller studios are passed by, because gamers look for the top graphics and big names. However, true gamers and true fans of genres like horror know that there are some really innovative experiences being made by new developers who think differently. White Noise 2 is a prime example of an inexpensive, multiplayer horror game with some excellent ideas.
Asymmetrical survival scares
White Noise 2 is a sequel to the popular White Noise Online, improving the experience in several ways. This is an asymmetrical game, meaning that instead of the usual balanced teams, one team is bigger than the other. In this case, it’s a 4 v 1 setup, which sounds unfair until you realise that the 4 players are terrified human investigators and the 1 is the thing which goes bump in the night. You can be the investigators and enjoy exploring dark, terrifying locales, or be the creature and hunt them down. The graphics are advanced and particularly make use of lighting to create tension. You must use your light to explore and stun creatures, but the batteries won’t last forever.
Fun gameplay but work needed
White Noise 2 gets very positive reviews, though some don’t like the slightly cartoonish appearance of characters. There is also some concern over the size of the player base, as a full group can be hard to find.
