Monster collecting action RPG for PC

Adore is a premium role-playing game for PC made by Cadabra Games. It is an action RPG with a focus on monster collecting. Players will be able to summon and control various creatures to fight by their side as they go on an adventure to save the land and its inhabitants.

Just like Coromon or Temtem, Adore features a wide roster of creatures for players to encounter and capture. Each one of them boasts unique strengths and abilities that allow for all kinds of team combinations and powerful synergies depending on the play style.

Creatures of the land

Adore takes place in Gaterdrik, a land filled with lush greenery and home to various wildlife. You play as Lukha, an apprentice for the Adorer, individuals who commune and control creatures. Draknar, God of Creatures, has fallen and a curse is spreading everywhere. He bestowed you the last spark of his power. Now, you must look for a way to revive him and discover the secrets behind his demise.

Combat in this game is a little different because you don’t fight enemies directly yourself. Instead, you summon creatures to do the battle for you. The game features a Synergy System that encourages teamwork and provides extra abilities or modifying effects. Your companions also have Special Abilities that can be triggered when their energy meter gets full to unleash powerful attacks during tough situations.

You will also visit god statues that give out Traits to your creatures, as well as various Runes and Artifacts that augment their battle potential. While the premise of the combat seems engaging, it’s actually a bit simplistic in practice. You just aim where you want your creatures to go and attack, and that’s pretty much it. The whole thing becomes rather dull after a little while.

Out of early access and ready for multi-platform release

After spending quite some time in the early access phase and garnering player feedback, Adore is now ready for its official release. No significant changes to both gameplay and saved files were announced, so old players can assume that their progress will remain intact. The game will be released on multiple gaming platforms, namely PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Fire and forget

Adore’s visuals are nice, the story is interesting, and its gameplay lets you play based on your style. While the former stays true, the latter is ultimately a bit underwhelming. Combat is just too simple to be engaging and lacks some depth. The game becomes repetitive too. It’s fine for casual gaming, but for anything else, there are better options available.
