The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare’s (DPW) Community Care Access and Supports (CCAS) Division is the division responsible for overseeing the application of the Community Care Access and Supports (CCAS) program in Pennsylvania. DPW’s CCAS Division is committed to improving the application process for CCAS.
CCAS is a voluntary, income-related public assistance program that provides payments for certain individuals and families with low income and no income. The payments are made directly to the applicant’s bank account or other approved payment mechanism, and they may be used for needs such as food, shelter, health care, and prescription drugs.
CCAS is one of the largest cash assistance programs in the nation. Over the course of a year, an average applicant can receive more than $6,000 in benefits.
CCAS includes food, shelter, health care, prescription drugs, and other necessary services.
