TwitterBackup does exactly what it says on the label: create a backup copy of all your Twitter messages.

TwitterBackup is dead simple to use: all you need to do is enter your username and password, allow the app to access your Twitter account on the Twitter website and then enter the PIN number you’re given into the app. TwitterBackup will start downloading your tweets right away.
Because of the Twitter API’s limitations, the whole process can take a very long time – especially if you have thousands of tweets. Also, be aware that direct messages won’t be included in the backup.
