Download songs from Last.fm to your hard drive

No matter how large your music library is, you’ll eventually grow tired of it. And when that time comes, Last.fm is a great alternative source of music where you can discover new genres and bands.

But what if you want to download the music you listen to on Last.fm to your hard drive? Then the best choice is LastSharp, a really simple piece of software that enables you to download music from Last.fm directly to your hard drive.

LastSharp is very easy to use and it doesn’t even require installation. All you need is your Last.fm login data and you’re good to go. You can search the site in several ways: using keywords, tags, looking for similar artists to the one you’ve entered or browsing your playlist and neighbors, among others.

There are a few things I especially liked about LastSharp. You can set the program to download a few songs at the same time, make it play the music once it’s been downloaded, get the album cover as well or even have all the songs automatically normalized with the built-in mp3Gain tool. LastSharp also includes its own music player and lets you listen to the selected track in streaming as well.

On the downside, I must say that LastSharp has occasionally a strange behavior. For example, I noticed that once you download a certain song from the search results, you can’t download any of the other songs that appear before that particular track on the list. Also, downloads can sometimes be a bit slow.

In general though LastSharp is a really handy tool that will give you the opportunity to enjoy music on Last.fm even more.
