An MMO first-person shooter
Special Forces Group 2 is a free action game coming from developer GD Company. It is a first-person shooter that allows for both offline gameplay with bots and online multiplayer. It offers multiple game modes and a long list of available weapons to choose from.
Seeing it compared to games like Army Counter Terrorist Attack Sniper Strike Shoot or Strike Port: Destruction, Special Forces Group 2 takes cues and inspiration from the popular long-running multiplayer shooter series, Counter-Strike. In its case, it’s trying to offer the same experience for gaming on the go.
Inspired by the classic
The Counter-Strike series has been around for more than two decades now, yet its popularity and influence have stood the test of time. It combines simple gameplay that anyone can get into and realistic gun mechanics that many games after it have tried to emulate. Special Forces Group 2 is one of them and it follows the classic shooter quite closely.
It features nine game modes, namely Classic, Resurrection, Capture the Flag, Zombie Mode, BombMode, Knives, Deathmatch, ArmsRace, and Sniper. There can be eight players per team, and more than 30 maps to choose from. Then, there are the weapon and gear choices available to you, of which there are 35 in total to use and combine in various load-outs and match scenarios.
To compliment that large arsenal, there are multiple weapon skins you can collect and put on your guns for a more unique and personal look to them. With all of that being said, ads appearing while in battle is a big con and disrupts the flow of the game. Also, while the graphics are okay, they look quite dated by today’s standards.
A decent imitation
All in all, Special Forces Group 2 is a decent attempt at offering a similar experience to that of the long-running Counter-Strike series. There are plenty of game modes to choose from, and equally as many weapons to play around with. While the graphics are not really much to look at, the gameplay itself is solid and worth a try nevertheless.
