Free and fun photo-editing software for smartphone users

IMG.LY is a popular software bundle that allows users to easily manipulate and adjust their smartphone images with a few swipes of their fingers. It also provides the ability to directly share these files with friends, family members and co-workers. It requires only a limited amount of memory, so it may be a welcome alternative to larger platforms such as GIMP or Adobe Photoshop. The latest update took place in May 2017.

Main Functions and Uses

IMG.LY has been specifically designed to be used with another system known as PhotoEditor SDK. Thus, it is first necessary to have this program installed. It currently offers more than 40 different filters. Each of these can be applied with the click of a button and a preview is available before the file will be saved. A recent update will now allow the user to zoom in on a image by simply ‘pinching’ the screen.

Besides the filters that are available, users also have immediate access to basic editing options such as correcting colors and adjusting lighting effects. It is possible to add text and stickers into an existing image to allow it to grab the attention of the viewer. Users will not have to pay to enjoy these features.
