Draw anywhere with this app

Drawing has come a long way since its first recorded history. From the cave walls, we can now draw not just on papers but on our gadgets as well. With this innovation, the artist bug can hit you without you needing to run home to your art materials. LayerPaint HD is among the ever-growing drawing apps. This comprehensive design software has tons of features that can help you achieve a stunning drawing. It is very customizable and comes with a large file feature. It is also visually optimized for larger screens making it perfect for larger devices.

Customizable drawing app

LayerPaint HD comes with a simple interface. However, it contains most of the features you need for mobile painting. Among its notable features are pen pressure support and layer mode. The app offers unlimited layers, so you can create a drawing with layers upon layers. More so, the layer mode lets you add a variety of effects to your drawings.

The app comes with 17 customizable brushes, which include scatter-brushes, watercolor brushes, 2-bitmap brushes, and an airbrush. It even has a droid brush that makes little Android icons. All the watercolor brushes can be set to mix their colors. LayerPaint HD allows users to change the settings on the brushes and save them as new ones.

Another great thing about this app is that you can customize its UI. You can toggle the color picker, brushes, and layers on and off. You can even move the undo/redo and line smoothing bars. LayerPaint HD also supports keyboard shortcuts if you have one attached to your device. However, this feature is not customizable. Users can save their working copies in a PSD format to preserve the layer structure.

LayerPaint HD is a nice tool for artists of any level. But it comes with some drawbacks. For one, it has a sub-par brush engine. The brush has excessive lags that it took a lot of effort to blend colors and get your desired paint effect. It also has problems in recognizing your pens and does not allow users to set their preferred sensitivity.

Overall, LayerPaint HD is worth a try if you are looking for a good drawing app for Android. But the developers still needs to address its issues for its users to have a better experience.
