The goal of Civilization VI is to lead your civilisation from humble beginnings to a world power. Build cities, and watch as they grow to spread across the map conduct research into technology to boost your country’s capabilities; maintain diplomatic relations with other civilisations; and build an army that you can send into battle when the time comes.

Compete with World Leaders

The opponent AIs are based around real-life historical figures, ranging from Teddy Roosevelt and Queen Victoria to Cleopatra and Montezuma. Each of these characters will have their own agenda, and a skilled player will need to take note of this so that they can predict the next moves of their opponents. Sometimes you will be able to exploit their personal weaknesses, or perhaps look for common ground that you can make use of to form an alliance. The element of opponent agendas marks a departure from previous instalments in the series, and ensures that Civilization VI plays rather differently to Civilization V.
