A small glimpse of a greater picture

SlipWays is a mini-PICO-8-edition space adventure. It’s part of a much larger game that is being developed progressively that will be available for desktops through Steam. The desktop edition of the game also includes the campaign mode. It also has a chamber of five races to choose from, a range of technology and philosophic viewpoints, and procedurally-generated graphics. All of which, are offered while maintaining the seamless gameplay in this preview.

Exhilarating time in space

Your key aim is to create an interstellar trading empire. To do this, you must explore planets and exchange goods amongst them. Either with your right-button mouse or SDFE buttons, you’ll be able to move the map where you need to press, lower the wormhole close to as many planets as you can, and locate a world to conquer. Based on the sort of business you pick, you can colonize a specific planet.

In order to construct a slipway, two planets need to be dragged together. Eventually, this move encourages them to exchange with each other. You have to be smart in deciding which planets to link and which planets to select from to produce a certain object that the other planet needs. The frameworks that are available for purchase can be found at the bottom right corner of your game screen. In the meantime. The top left corner shows a number of testing technologies.

This space simulation game is incredibly time-sensitive. So, with short time constraints, you have to try hard to get the best results. However, this turn-based game only supports single-player, so you can’t enjoy playing this game with other players. There is also no way to zoom in and out of the map, making your POV a bit limited. It would be a wonderful opportunity if you could really take a moment and look at the production loops periodically.

Impressive preview

Despite the limited content, SlipWays is a fantastic glimpse of a potentially great game when it gets officially released. You can guarantee that after you have played this mini-PICO-8 version of the epic space adventure, you will be one of the players who can predict and keep track of the new changes in this series as updates continually roll out. It’s both an entertaining and calming game at the same time.
