Survive Against Other Powerful Opponents in this Battle Royale MOBA Game
Eclipse Isle is an online multiplayer action video game that combines battle royale gameplay with MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) elements. Similar to other popular battle royale games, Eclipse Isle has you trying to survive an island full of other players and hostile monsters, wherein the life-sapping Eclipse is gradually engulfing the map, and there can be only one winner. However, this game offers fantasy, magic, and unique abilities as its main appeal rather than first-person shooter action.
Last Man Standing
Claimed to be “Fortnite meets League of Legends,” Eclipse Isle is highly similar to other games of the same genre. While the premise is more of being the champion to save the world, this game doesn’t just rely on its similarities with other titles and happily brings in other elements to support its “first of its kind” anime style kind of battle royale. This classic game mode consists of fighting other players and surviving them to be the last one alive. Just like Fortnite, Eclipse Isle has an impressively large map for its players to explore and use to their advantage—and the playable area will gradually grow smaller and smaller to force players to confront each other. However, Eclipse Isle lacks the defenses-building ability in the shooter game and instead gives you unique abilities that define you from the others. Various items scattered throughout the map will also give you an edge in a fight versus 60 enemies.
Survival Fantasy
MOBA, also known action real-time strategy or ARTS, is a subgenre of strategy video games wherein a player controls a single character in a team that will compete against another team of players. MOBAs are usually a fusion of action, role-playing, and real-time strategy games, and Eclipse Isle really shines through with this feature. Instead of making and customizing your character, Eclipse Isle provides a roster of colorful Heroes for you to choose from. They vary in all kinds of aspects—from game design to combat style—and you can win them to be in your team or just buy them. This difference of skills is what makes Eclipse Isle exciting with its battle royale trials. Some have long-range attacks, while others rely on close combat. Whichever you choose, battle royale is definitely going to get more challenging—especially since you won’t usually have a team to support you against other players and AI monsters.
A Whole New Kind of Frenzy
Despite featuring unique Heroes with skills, players cannot just breeze through Eclipse Isle. When you start a match, you won’t have access to your character’s abilities. You’ll need to explore and start collecting equipment, craftable resources, and energy ores for your character’s weapon and powers. Thus, it’s very important to still strategize and utilize your environment to gain an advantage over your opponents. It’s even more critical since Eclipse Isle only has a small roster of playable characters, and they’re not all available to you at the start. Since it’s a mobile game, expect some issues with lag when the action gets into a frenzy. Other than that, though, Eclipse Isle is a different kind of battle royale.
