GPU and CPU fan manager
FanControl is a handy computer utility tool that provides you more control over your GPU and CPU fan speed and functions. Apart from that, it can also provide up-to-date and detailed information regarding its performance.
This is an open-source and completely free program to add to your desktop’s useful assets. It is important to note that this software solution actually utilizes three libraries: LibreHardwareMonitor, MaterialDesignInXamlToolkit, and NvAPIWrapper.
Outstanding customization capability
Frankly, there are tons of applications in the market that offer the same. However, what makes FanControl unique among them is its high customization capability. It enables you to combine various curves, sensors, and graphs and even create custom fan curves. There are six fan curve types that you can utilize here. Linear and Graph types based the temperature on linear function and custom curve respectively.
Target curve type, on the other hand, holds fans’ speed until your aimed temperature is reached. The Mix allows you to use two different curves and apply a mix function—either max or sum—on it. Moreover, Sync coincides with an existing control while Flat permits you to set a fixed percentage value. The graph fan curve editor that it provides can add, remove and drag points around the graph.
Not only that, it can fine-tune the fan control feedback with steps, activation percentage, hysteresis, and response time parameters. This simple utility gives you the power to save, edit, and load multiple profiles as well as read temperature from many sources including CPU, GPU, motherboard, hard drivers, and the .sensor file. It provides a modern and sophisticated dashboard-style UI, which can also work in the background.
More fan power control
FanControl is the best tool option to have when you want to be in full control of your GPU and CPU fan. Out of its competitors, it provides the most customizable options which means that there will be a lot of fan curve types that you’ll be able to personalize based on various temperatures or conditions. Here, the fan power is in the palm of your hands.
