A new mod for the game, Family Planning, lets you decide how many children you want to have. The default value is four, but you can change it to any number.

After you’ve loaded your singleplayer save file, you want the mod to change, go to the SMAPI console and use the command “set_max_children “. This will change the maximum number of children you can have to the value you entered. There’s also a command “get_max_children” to check what the value is currently set to.

This mod also lets you decide your child’s gender when you name them. You could have one son, or three daughters, or two sons and two daughters, or no children at all, etc. The choice is yours.

Note: If you’re using a mod like “Krobus Marriage Mod” that makes Krobus marriable, this mod is compatible! Because Krobus is a normal marriage candidate when using the mod, you don’t need to change this config setting. You’ll be able to have kids with Krobus just like any other marriage candidate.
