Viking-themed city builder for PC
Viking City Builder is a premium strategy game for PC by developer Roslagen. It is a city-building title that features a Viking theme to it. Set in the early Viking era, players will experience being one of the Norsemen leaders as they explore and establish new territories throughout Europe.
Compared to other Viking-themed games like Valheim or Expeditions: Vikings, Viking City Builder takes a more grounded and realistic approach in portraying the life and times of early Norsemen warriors. From pillaging lands to establishing territories, and declaring war, it offers players a deep and authentic experience.
How is it played?
Like most games about Viking lore and history, things start with a goal of conquest, and Viking City Builder is no different in that regard. Where others would lean heavily on the action, though, it focuses more on strategic gameplay—quite enticing if you’re a fan of RTS. You’ll experience everything from the moment you set sail for Europe, all the way to establishing your territories.
True to its city-building leanings, this game will have you seek out land to pillage, build, and establish your territory. Build a home where your brethren can live and use it as a foothold to help them on their quest to expand and occupy more territories. You’ll also have to be wary of fortification and your defense to combat the threat of retaliation from European lords and kingdoms.
Speaking of combat, the game will also let you engage in high-stakes skirmishes and large-scale battles for dominance. What’s more, it will be the first strategy game ever to use Ray Tracing in its graphics. You will have to wait, though, since there is no official release date yet for it. You can keep track of updates through its official Steam game page if you want.
Live the life of a Viking warrior
If you’re a fan of RTS games and themes involving Vikings, then Viking City Builder is an interesting title that is worth keeping an eye out for. It offers compelling gameplay that will have you start with nothing and slowly build and establish territories, all in the quest for dominance. The addition of Ray Tracing support will surely be a delight for gamers with GPUs that can handle them.
