Psychological indie horror game

æ is an indie horror game developed by Colorfiction. This game will have players go on an adventure across a dark world filled with confusing and weird shapes and flashing imagery. To make things eerier, strange audio plays in the background as you cover more ground.

æ is a subtler and more cryptic game than Ode to a Moon, making it even more unnerving. There will also be many possible endings that await the players. However, each session will only last for about half an hour. Moreover, looking at constant movements and flashing objects can cause headaches for some players.

How do you play æ?

æ is a lightweight paid game developed using Unity and Adobe Photoshop. As mentioned, the game consists of constant movements, flashing graphics, and scary sounds. Here, players are forced to wander after starting stranded on a mountain. As you explore the dark, you will encounter strange shapes and hear weird voices. You can also experience the Five Glyphs of Silence and wade through the Dead River as you wander.

æ requires little input from the players. Much like Friday Night Funkin, you will use WASD to move. The mouse, meanwhile, allows you to look around. If you want to access the main menu, tapping the escape key will do that. In the game, you will explore different locations in each session. As noted, there will be many possible endings to every session.

Players must note, however, that the game has a short run time. They can even complete a session in about half an hour. However, since it has many endings, you can play the game over and over to get a different outcome. Be warned, though: the highly grating audiovisual content of æ is headache-inducing. You might not last the entire session without feeling a throbbing in your temple.

Fun yet confusing

Overall, æ will take players into a dark, weird, and confusing journey. The game map will capture your interests with its various shapes and flashing images. Not only that, but the cryptic way that the game will play out will keep you exploring for more. The downside, however, is that the graphics may induce headaches. Completing a session can be challenging since the throbbing pain in your head may force you to stop playing.
