A quasi-medieval strategy game

Keep The Keep is a video game that will surely put your problem-solving skills to the test. In this game, you will have to protect your tower while also trying your best to destroy your opponents’. You will have limited moves, or rather, limited items that you can use to either protect your tower or attack your opponent.

Keep The Keep has a medieval theme setting. It is developed by Nebulate.me. The game requires a 64-bit processor and operating system and at least 4 GB Ram to run smoothly.

Simple but slow-paced

In a nutshell, Keep The Keep is loosely inspired by chess. Each battle is held in an arena with black-and-white checkered floors. You and your opponent will have towers in place of Queens. Meanwhile, the houses, walls, reactors, and canons will act as your pawn pieces. Both of you will take turns in building your defenses, and the game will keep on going until one of your towers is demolished.

To win, you will have to strategically map out your resources and figure out the fastest way you can disassemble your opponents’ canons before they can disarm you. You don’t have to worry if it’s your first time playing the game because it has a tutorial for beginners. There’s also a demo that you can try first before purchasing the full version.

Unfortunately, this game doesn’t have the best controls. Sometimes you have to click on the items more than once before they register. The lack of a skip button during dialogues also affects the momentum of the gameplay. There’s also the issue of pacing. Although you can increase the animation speed to improve the pace a little bit, for a strategy game you would expect things to be more erratic.

Not for quitters

Sharpen your problem-solving skills with Keep the Keep. Since you can restart a level over and over again, you can come up with a new strategy each time until you eventually become triumphant. One must also exert patience when playing this game or else you’ll be easily bored with its slow turn of events. If you’re into Chess-like games, then this one is perfect for you.
