Hand-drawn side-scrolling action RPG

Sage of Sins is a premium role-playing game for PC by developer Bonus Level Entertainment. It’s a 2D side-scrolling action RPG that revolves around a cleric tasked with cleansing a town of evil. What’s interesting is that they will do so with the help of demonic powers.

Similar to ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights or Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Sage of Sins blends a dark and atmospheric setting with hand-drawn graphics for a unique presentation akin to a painting. Take note, though, that this game is currently only available as a demo.

Fight evil with evil

Sage of Sins follows the deep and dark journey of a righteous cleric named Cecil who goes forth to clean the town of Sinwell of its spiritual plague. You will enter the minds of villagers to cleanse them of their evil thoughts and inner demons by calling on demonic powers yourself. You will transform into four different creatures to help you face and defeat what lies ahead.

The challenges and dangers you’ll face in this RPG will be unpredictable and unknown. The minds of both the innocent and the sinner hold secrets and inner struggles manifest themselves as otherworldly creatures. Make use of the Howling WerewolfFierce GargoyleMighty Griffin, and secret fourth transformation’s abilities to overcome any obstacle or enemy that lies ahead. Each one has a skill tree to unlock and upgrade.

The whole experience features 31 stages divided between Sinner Levels and Innocent Levels. Each one boasts a different story that culminates in multiple possible endings, all revolving around the Seven Deadly Sins. Keep in mind that the game does require a 64-bit processor and operating system and at least 10 GB of available storage space in order to run it smoothly.

Facing one’s demons

If you’re a fan of 2D side-scrolling RPGs, then Sage of Sins is a game worth checking out. It features a distinct art style coupled with an intriguing narrative to go along with its action-packed gameplay. Although the system requirements needed to run this game are quite high, it can be deemed forgivable given the thrilling and immersive game experience this title offers.
