A Scholastic Lite Variant of a Pro CAD Software

PCB-ST Lite by McCAD is a free tool that helps you execute small CAD projects. The tool is McCAD Pro Series’ scholastic edition that comes with good number of tools that shall help get most project work done in CAD.

Integrated Layout

PCB-ST Lite comes with an integrated PCB layout for board designers who delve in layout tasks and need a powerful design and editing tool handy at all times. The tool is net list-driven and is compatible with complete backward and forward annotation of components and net attributes passed from and to McCAD’s Schematics Lite, which is available separately. With PCB-ST Lite, cross-checking can be done within seconds. Also, the software comprises several intelligent attributes such as design rule checking, auto via insertion, auto thermal dispersion, dynamic place, and creation of auto ground plane. More support tools are separately available, which can be found on the developer’s website. These tools could be added to make the designing even simpler.

Completely Functional

As aforementioned, this tool is available to download for free and functions fully with small projects. The application’s project limits are pretty much determined by the memory that has been allotted to the editing buffers. For this Lite series, a total of 150 pins are based on design complexity. If you’d like a lot more capability, there are other versions available separately that you may avail. For instance, in PCB-ST SE500, you would be able to handle designs of much bigger sizes.
