A Browser Alternative Created by Microsoft
Nowadays, more and more people are using their mobile phones to access the internet. And while Google Chrome is the most popular mobile browser, it is never unwise to check out alternatives. Microsoft Edge is one of those alternative browser apps based on Chromium. Created by Microsoft, Microsoft Edge provides its users with fast and easy browsing. What’s more, it can sync your mobile phone to your Windows 10 device so you can pick up from where you left off on your internet activity.
From PC to phone
Microsoft Edge aims to provide its users with a continuous browsing experience. Contents and data are synced in the background, so you can have access to them anytime. No matter what device you use, your browser is always personalized.
Mobile users can also access well-loved features such as the Hub, which allows you to organize the web to limit the clutter. The Hub View also lets you access your favorites, reading list, books, and history in one place, so finding content is easy.
Microsoft Edge also offers fast searching. Unlike other browser apps, it offers two more ways to searching other than typing the URL or a keyword on the search bar. Users can use the voice search function which lets them speak or ask a question to prompt the app to search the web. They can also try the camera search by taking a photo or using an image from their camera roll.
Furthermore, Microsoft comes with an InPrivate tab, where, like the incognito tabs, your browsing data such as cookies, history and auto-fill information, isn’t saved in your device after closing the tabs.
Personalized browser
Microsoft Edge is a well-designed app. It comes with a light theme by default but with an option for a dark theme. To get around this app, you would need to log in to your account. This would sync your passwords, history, reading list, and favorites from your PC and lets you access them in your mobile device.
This app also allows you to tweak the setting to your preference. To do so, tap the three-dot icon, and click the Settings button. Here you can change the privacy setting of your browser. You can choose not to save password and data to your website forms. You can also block pop-ups and cookies, and even choose not to share your history.
The setting option also lets you change your search settings. You can opt to display your news feed whenever you open the app. You can even change the default search engine from Bing to Google or Yahoo. Microsoft Edge also allows you to change the browser from mobile view to desktop view and vice versa.
Do more with Copilot
Newer versions of the program will be integrated with Microsoft 365’s AI-powered assistant, Copilot, through the sidebar. Through this new add-on, multi-tasking is going to be seamless and achievable. The handy companion tool will scrape relevant data on the page you are currently visiting and use that to complete other tasks. For instance, you can ask the bot to complete a summary of the workday’s events and it will go through sent emails and other vital information sources to wrap something up for you.
A new mobile browser option
Google Chrome may be the default browser for most devices. But if you are on the lookout for an alternative, Microsoft Edge is definitely worth a try. This app is very clean and loads pages quickly with little unnecessary clutter. But what sets it apart from the competition is its ability to let you start a browsing session on a device and pick up right where you left off on a different device without losing data. If you are looking for a fast and customizable browser, then this app is for you.
