Learn to fear the dark in Train 113
Train 113 is a free first-person horror game in which you play a passenger who wakes up aboard a seemingly empty subway train. As you move around the train, trying to get from car to car, you’ll begin to sense that things around you are not what they appear to be. This atmospheric horror title takes its inspiration from games like SCP-087 and Slender: The Eight Pages.
Keeping it simple
Train 113 is a very simple horror game. You can move around the train car, examine your surroundings, and interact with objects. Many cars have simple puzzles you need to solve to get to the next one, such as finding a necessary tool or switch.
Keeping it scary
Like many other indie first-person horror games, Train 113 mainly focuses on building up a tense, menacing atmosphere. As you progress through the game you’ll see more and more evidence that there’s something not right on the train and eventually come face to face with the horror.
An atmospheric experience
Like many other exploration horror games, Train 113 doesn’t have a lot of interactivity; it’s mainly about exploring a horrific environment. It makes good use of its stock assets to do so, turning the repetitive scenery of the drab train cars into a source of unease.
Not much more than a teaser
Train 113 is intended to garner support for a full game by its developers, which means that it’s not much more than a playable trailer. It takes a very short time to play: you should complete it in less than a quarter of an hour.
