Beat computer virus in this FPS
Antivirus is a free action game developed by 20chan. It is a first-person shooter where you shoot down enemies coming at you at a fast pace. The only difference is that you are battling with computer viruses.
Unlike other computer games, Antivirus does not have a map of its own. There is a small screen where you can see the viruses. However, what you will use as a map is your own desktop screen. With this, it feels as if you are battling malware affecting your computer. Although, as with other indie games, it has short gameplay.
How do you play this game?
Antivirus is a simple indie game. As mentioned, it utilizes the same gameplay as a shooter game. However, your enemies here are viruses infecting your computer. The game has simple controls, using only your mouse or space bar to shoot the enemies crawling at you. Be careful, though. Once a virus gets near you, you will lose a bar from your life battery.
What makes the game unique is that it uses your desktop screen as a map. Once launched, a small window will appear, showing you a visual representation of your hardware. The virus will then start appearing on the crevices. You can move around your screen by moving your mouse. The game is short as it only comes with three levels—represented by folders being scanned for viruses.
More than the short gameplay, the game also lacks variety. The only difference in each folder is the number of viruses spawning in the crevices of the hardware. There is also no reward system offered. Finally, players will find that some of the viruses take too long to kill. Meanwhile, some spawn directly in front of you, taking a life bar from you immediately.
Is the game good?
Overall, Antivirus is a game that can entertain casual players. It has a unique concept that features a representation of how antivirus apps work. It also comes with simple control for easy playing. However, the lack of variety can make the game boring. Additionally, it does not offer that much challenge to compete with other first-person shooter games in the market.
