Free 2D vertical climbing game

Today, there are hundreds of vertical climbing games online that you can play, and some have even become classics, such as Doodle Jump and Mega Jump. In comes Heather Flowers, who developed a black and white 2D game called Ladderdot. It’s the developer’s entry into the vast climbing game genre. Ladderdot was independently developed by Flowers; the game has no characters or plot. It’s primarily designed for users who want an easy gaming experience.

What is the best climbing game?

There are moving arenas of different sizes and two black dots in Ladderdot’s universe. As a tiny dot, your aim is to drive the huge black circle upwards. You need to make sure you are moving it into a place with enough room to accommodate it. It would slip into oblivion otherwise, and the game has to start from the beginning. The black circle only swings when you force it or when it changes in the arena.

You are able to travel freely in this game. The normal flow of movement of all the elements in the game is provided by the special motion system. The simplistic gameplay approach of Ladderdot might make it feel a bit boring. Fortunately, there are 3 game modes available to choose from, so you can experience the thrill. These are the aptly named Simple, Mild, and Hard modes. The platforms move quicker and more erratically with each step in difficulty.

This suggests that you need to keep your eyes peeled for the closest platform on which you can move the wider circle. Ladderdot will start tracking your scores until you start playing. On the home screen, you can see your highest scores per stage. The game does not feature a world-ranking system or online play, but seeing the high-score tracking system makes you want to continue playing and reach a new high score.

Fewer graphics, more funĀ

Ladderdot is an incredibly straightforward game, but playing can be very complicated. Since the platforms move about at random, players will need to create a strategy as they play. You can choose the medium or hard mode to see the arenas move much faster if the moving arena is not difficult enough. Your contributions will not go unnoticed; on each stage on the homepage, you can see your best scores. Overall, it’s worth checking Ladderdot out.
