A shoot ’em up with a weird aesthetic
Nextbot Killer – Land Survival is a free top-down shooter with an oddball cartoon aesthetic. Harking back to classic titles like Robotron, the emphasis is on all-out action as you rake in power-ups to fight off a horde of enemies. Your character will fire a gun automatically. It can be easy to get confused as to what’s an enemy and what’s your own fire.
The app mixes the weird “meme face” enemies from Meme Face Hide and Seek with the intense shoot ’em up action seen in Bullet Candy. While your opponents may look bizarre, they can still do you damage if you get too close.
No obstacles, only enemies
Nextbot Killer – Land Survival puts the player in an environment with no obstacles but an ongoing swarm of enemies coming from all directions. Your job is simply to navigate them to ensure that they are out of harm’s reach while blasting away as many enemies as possible.
Power-ups
As you progress, you will be granted the option to choose between different power-ups. Your choices include spinning buzz-saws, extra bullet speed, Molotov cocktails, and more. These power-ups themselves can be upgraded for extra strength. This ability comes in handy since thick enemy forces continue coming back quickly.
Soon gets hectic
The gameplay Nextbot Killer – Land Survival can sometimes get too hectic for its own good. Razor blades, black holes, and blazing Molotov cocktail fires are automatically created by the player’s character.
Simple but challenging
As simple as the basic gameplay is, Nextbot Killer – Land Survival is a challenge. Once the boss enemies start turning up, most players will have trouble making it as far as the second level. It should please fans of “bullet hell” games, particularly if they appreciate a quirky sense of humor.
