Set in a futuristic neon home, Rumu is an impressively stylised experience based around the nature of A.I. and the ability of robots to think and feel. The titular character is a small vacuum cleaner who is tasked with keeping the family home clean. As time progresses and the main household A.I. Sabrina begins asking strange questions, the game morphs into a kind of point and click adventure game with horror overtones. The simple aesthetic and minimalist sound design combine to create an ominous feeling, infusing the robotic characters with surprising depth. Much of the great moments in Rumu are based around discovery and revelation, so players should go in knowing as little as possible. While the indie style and general lack of gameplay will exclude those only interested in action, the game should impress most gamers.
