Become a real general in this mod
Command & Conquer: Yuri’s Revenge – A General’s Game Mod is a free video game utility that lets you improve your strategic gameplay in Command & Conquer: Yuri’s Revenge. Developed by yurilee19871021, this total overhaul mod adds various new content to expand the playable assets. The software also allows you to test out your tactical prowess with real-life warfare units ported into the game. They’re all given realistic stats to be almost comparable to their real-world counterparts.
The game world becomes alive
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is a 2000 real-time strategy video game developed by Westwood Pacific and published by EA Games. It is the direct sequel to Command & Conquer: Red Alert and its only expansion pack is Command & Conquer: Yuri’s Revenge. In the expansion, Yuri becomes the main antagonist and gains his own faction that’s playable in the multiplayer mode. However, despite the positive new features, this game may feel lacking for any war strategy fans.
This is where A General’s Game helps out. True to its name, you get to fully experience the strategic planning of a general with the mod’s offered content. It adds over 110 new units—from modern weapons to different classes of warships. These open up new types of combat that the mod integrates as new gameplay mechanics, so you can now do air-to-air combat, naval warfare, stealth and espionage missions, and even base defense.
Aside from that, the mod also offers six new playable factions: China, Japan, Italy, Brazil, Israel, and India. Each faction has its specialized units available only to them. There are also ten new buildings you can construct, as well as new assets for Yuri’s faction in the game. All of these units’ performance have been scaled to be realistic, and most of the game mechanics and even the AI have been rebalanced to accommodate them.
A really nice mod
Overall, if you’re looking for a more accurate and expansive strategy game, Command & Conquer: Yuri’s Revenge – A General’s Game Mod allows you to have it. Not only does it add new content, but it also revamps the whole gameplay to be more of a realistic strategy game that features modern units found in the real world. It’s only too bad that this mod is meant more for the single-player campaign skirmishes.
