Premium coop horror

Sign of Silence is a paid action game that lets you play with up to four players in a cooperative survival challenge. As survivors of a mishap on the road, it is up to you and your friends to seek help at the nearest town of Danwill. However, the only way to salvation is through a forest filled with unspeakable horrors. Solve riddles, find items, and outrun the monster that lives within.

With an improved visual quality that feels closer to The Forest, survival horror fans should check out Sign of Silence. Once you’ve gotten the hang of playing the game, it feels like Pacify or DEVOUR.

Work as a team or die trying

In terms of premise, Sign of Silence feels like it’s paying homage to a number of trips gone wrong—Cabin in the Woods or the Hills Have Eyes. It may sound cliche, but it manages to develop and branch out into something truly horrifying. From a gaming standpoint, there are multiple “endings” or escape routes depending on which you can achieve, each offering a unique part of the larger picture.

It also offers a good variety of gameplay styles and possibilities, catering to different types of players. There are options for those who want to get it done as fast as possible, as well as for those who want to confront the darkness and ultimately banish it. Take note, however, that these scenarios also come in wildly different difficulty levels.

Some players are complaining that the game feels too slow despite its fun and challenging premise. The movement is deliberately slow, which makes it additionally more challenging. There are also instances where the monster or other villains in the game approach you without you even noticing, because of issues with the sound being drowned by the environment. Whether intentional or not, it’s unfair to get killed out of the blue.

An unnecessarily difficult coop survival

By having everything in a single, well-designed map, Sign of Silence is a promising and challenging multiplayer survival game. Its range is something players don’t get to enjoy every day, although it also means that some achievements or targets are too difficult for other players to achieve. Aside from a couple of bugs, such as opponent sounds not being audible over the environmental sound effects, this deserves a try.
