Free standing stone effect mod

Andromeda is a free mod that completely overhauls the vanilla standing stones of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, granting all-new powers and effects depending on the stone you choose and how many you discover. Similar to mods like Mundus and Aurora, Andromeda completely replaces the effects of all the stones throughout Skyrim and adds multiple unique effects for each as a replacement. General gameplay mechanics mods include Skyrim Skill Uncapper and Simply Knock SE.

In both Skyrim and SSE, the standing stones are fairly basic, each with their own unique buff for the player, but not really offering much beyond that. They’re a neat novelty to discover and then forget about for the rest of the game. Andromeda, however, aims to change that.

Powers

Each stone’s effect throughout the game is completely replaced with two new ones. If the player discovers all standing stones throughout Skyrim, each stone gets an additional unlockable effect. The Steed Stone, for example, has its effect from the base game completely changed.

Rather than offering 100 additional carrying capacity and making worn armor weightless, it now increases carrying capacity by 50, adds additional landmarks to the map, increases movement speed and stamina outside of combat, and with the unlockable effect, allows you to open a magic storage space to store or retrieve items at will. Effects like these replace the mundane attributes of each and every standing stone from the base game.

Compatibility

All Andromeda modifies are the effects and buffs of each stone. As such, there are very few mods that it should butt heads with and cause issues, besides mods that do the exact same thing, such as Aurora. Aside from similar standing stone mods, Andromeda runs fine with anything other modification.

Call your power

If the standard effects of the standing stones are just a bit too simple for you, Andromeda is a lightweight mod that adds some extra depth to your playthrough. It can inspire new kinds of builds and gives you a reason to explore and search for all the stones throughout Skyrim. Plus, it’s all in a lore-friendly package that doesn’t fundamentally change the purpose of the standing stones themselves.

The mod doesn’t receive frequent updates, as the developer doesn’t seem to intend to add additional stones other than the ones already in the game or additional effects. However, any reported bugs are swiftly handled in hotfixes.
