Unofficial desktop client for Grooveshark, with support for Last.fm

GrooveWalrus is the first desktop client that lets you play music from the online streaming service Grooveshark.

Thanks to GrooveWalrus, you won’t have to launch your web browser and load up the Grooveshark website every time you want to listen to some online music. Plus it adds very interesting extra features to the original app, such as the possibility to import, save and share the songs you listen to.

Another good thing about GrooveWalrus is the integration with Last.fm. You can scrobble music to your Last.fm account, as well as read more about the band you’re listening to and have access to the playlists created by similar artists and songs – though we have so say this last part didn’t seem to work.

In all, GrooveWalrus looks like an interesting project with a lot of potential, but it’s still in development. Playback takes a while to start, and the program freezes from time to time.
