Dark fantasy conversion mod

World of Vasnar Mod is a free-to-use utility created by Ryndill_Blackfyre for the action RPG title Mount & Blade: Warband. This mod is a dark fantasy conversion of the base game, using elements of 18th-century gothic aesthetic and taking inspiration from artworks and lore from fictional worlds like Innistrad, Bloodborne, and Greedfall.

World of Vasnar Mod introduces plenty of features from another mod for Mount & Blade: Warband, Hispania 1200: Reconquista. It features a custom map with nine playable factions and a handful of unplayable ones. There are also a number of custom quests players can dive into.

Play as a human or vampire

World of Vasnar Mod is a massive mod that transforms the vanilla gameplay experience offered by Mount & Blade: Warband into a gothic fantasy filled with vampires and magic. In this mod, players can either play as a human or a vampire. Regardless of what they pick, they will have access to a basic magic system based on retextured throwable objects with custom effects such as summoning.

The mod introduces a custom map that fits its gothic fantasy world. It features nine playable factions, namely Church of the Three, Republic of Bruvik, County Nelia, County Kregan, County Stygia, Vampire Houses, Union of Ebenhof, Archduchy of Weldhauf, and Strumheif Enclaves. More new factions are added but they are unplayable. Moreover, it adds five custom quests the developers intend to expand in the future.

Other features in this mod are Pre-Battle Orders and Deployment and Mercenary Camps. This mod is made possible through the contribution of many mod authors. Certainly, it is a large mod that allows fans of the base game to play it in an entirely different way. Players who are new to modding should expect a bit of a challenge when installing this total conversion. Otherwise, the process is straightforward.

Should you install it?

Whether this mod is worth installing or not depends on your preferences. Do you love Mount & Blade: Warband and would like to experience it again but in an entirely different world? If yes, then you should give this mod a try. On the other hand, if you want mods that stick to the vanilla experience as much as possible, you should give this one a pass.
