Swing Your Golf Club Wildly And Listen In A Narrated Experience.
Golfing Over It with Alva Mojo is a “golfing” game inspired by Ben Foddy’s Getting Over It. Its controls are ramshackle, its graphical assets stock and thrown together probably in less than a week, and it is very hard, but it also has a soft-voiced narrator join you and talk about video games as a whole.
A game with a purpose for its existence
If that initial description doesn’t tell you enough, then this much can be said: Golfing Over It is not a game you play because you want to play golf. It’s a game you play because you want the game to throw a stream of difficult nonsense at you, and talk to you about that nonsense in detail.
NOT an easy choice
Golfing Over It with Alva Mojo is an amusing tribute to a game that surely broke at least one controller. It retains a lot of the same high level of difficulty and “trash game” design principles that defined Getting Over It, but it’s somewhat different and less polished. If you enjoy that game, you have a good chance of enjoying this one.
