Free-to-use RDR2 photo gallery

Red Dead Redemption 2 Pic is a free-to-use multimedia app that serves as an unofficial companion app to the hit action role-playing game from Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption II. This small and nifty app contains a couple of artworks from the game, with a mix of fan-made artwork and screenshots from real game footage.

It’s worth noting that in the Red Dead Redemption 2 Pic, there are no other features to expect. The app only lets you go through a series of images with no interactions available. You might want to check out the more useful RDR2: Companion instead.

A portable RDR2 gallery

As mentioned, Red Dead Redemption 2 Pic only offers a set of photos from the game, with no music and videos. It has a fixed set of images, combining fan art and screenshots from the game. This means that there are no other controls available, with tapping the touchscreen working to move you to the next photo in the set.

At the very least, the app features high-resolution images, making it a good reminder of the quality of the original game. Clear, crisp visuals and vivid colors are in most of the photos. Still, you only get to view the same 10 photos or so. The app doesn’t update or allow you to download additional photo sets, making the app ultimately tiring after a couple of runs.

Although it has limited use for a lot of users, the fact that it comes in a very small package may still give it hope for fans of the cowboy action game. At only 6.19MB, it’s almost negligible for modern devices as far as storage is concerned. One glaring issue, however, is that it often changes between displaying full screen ads and a notice saying “Ad not loaded.

Almost a bloatware

Bloatware refers to files that serve no practical purpose, only consuming storage, and the Red Dead Redemption 2 Pic app is close to being one. It only shows you the same set of photos over and over again. While the quality of the individual images is commendable and feels true to the game it was based on, the lack of variety makes it tiring after a couple of cycles.
