A first-person shooter set in the Star Trek universe
Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force is a first-person shooter (FPS) that takes place in the Star Trek universe, specifically within the Star Trek: Voyager part of that universe. The game puts the player on the USS Voyager, where they must fight a range of different enemies.
Parallels can be drawn between this game and the early Quake games, like Quake 4. Indeed, Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force uses the same game engine as Quake III. This release also includes the Elite Force Expansion Pack, which was originally a separate expansion that would need to have been bought.
Do battle on the USS Voyager
In Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force, the player becomes a member of the USS Voyager’s elite hazard team. The ship has been mysteriously transported into a dangerous space infested with hostile aliens, and it is the player’s job to defend the ship from scavengers. Along the way, the player will encounter recognizable species from the show, such as the Borg.
First-person shooting
The gameplay of Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force is relatively standard first-person shooter fare for the time (originally released in 2000), with multiplayer modes and a host of weapons to find and use. There are also 16 multiplayer arenas to do battle in.
A solid shooter in the Start Trek universe
Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force is a popular shooting game originally released in 2000. It is still a solid shooter experience, but it does look quite dated now. It should be noted that multiplayer is TCP/IP LAN only, meaning players will need to connect directly with other online players for multiplayer games.
