QuickTime content without the fuss

There is nothing more annoying when you’re surfing the web than clicking on a link only to be told that you need plug-ins you don’t have to view the content. One of the biggest offenders in this area is QuickTime, the Apple format that is commonly used for streamed video, especially movie trailers.

Of course, you could just install QuickTime, but lots of people think it is more trouble than it is worth. If you already use an alternative media player (and you really should), installing the QuickTime player just to see a few trailers really seems like overkill. Is there an alternative? You’ll be glad to find out that there’s plenty, and QT Lite is one great example.

QT Lite installs only the elements you need to view QuickTime content online, without any of the extras or resource-eating involved in QuickTime player or other plug-ins. When you finish installing QT Lite, a configuration window pops up so you can chose exactly what you want it to take care of. Even if you completely skip this stage, you’ll still be able to view QuickTime online. Of course, if you are interested in the nuts and bolts of QT Lite, there is a whole world of settings to play around with, but part of the beauty of the program is that you can get as involved – or not – as you want.

QT Lite – solve your QuickTime problems with a minimum of fuss.
