A Nintendo 64 emulator for Mac

Although the Mac has always been criticized for offering less games than PCs, you can’t hide the fact that there is a great choice of emulators to choose from on Apple computers.

The sixtyforce emulator allows you to play Nintendo 64 games on your Mac. The Nintendo console is still popular among gamers and many emulators for it have been generated on Mac. You can therefore still find a plethora of N64 sites offering a wide range of ROMs.

I like how sixtyforce lets you easily create preset keyboard controllers or connect your own controllers. In terms of graphics, you’ll see you can select the plugin used to draw graphics and adjust multisample levels to smooth the sharp edges on 3D objects. sixtyforce also lets you choose the audio plugin that processes the sound of games.

I found it easy to load and run games with sixtyforce and both audio and video quality were excellent. The fact that you can easily find a lot of N64 games in ROM version online also helps to make it an excellent platform.

Beware though that sixtyforce can be a little unstable due to the fact that it’s still in Beta.

If you’re into Nintendo 64, you’ll enjoy the sixtyforce emulator. It offers good settings to adjust your controllers, audio and graphics.
