Escape the factory in this free horror game
Ice Scream 4: Rod’s Factory is a horror game created by Keplerians Horror Games. This free-to-play game is the fourth installment of the franchise of the same title. It brings the same gameplay and experience as the previous titles but offers a different map and new enemies.
Your goal in this adventure game is to escape from the ice cream factory and rescue the other prisoners. Like Five Nights at Freddy’s, Ice Scream 4 uses creepy atmospheres and jump scares to scare players. However, upon a deeper look, you will find that the game is not that creepy at all.
What can you expect from Ice Scream 4?
Ice Scream 4: Rod’s Factory brings back the scary ice cream man named Rod. As with the previous titles, he still attacks kids and kidnaps them. Only this time, he will take them into his ice cream factory instead of his ice cream truck. You will play one of the neighborhood kids, who will try to escape his grasps while rescuing the other prisoners.
For the first time in the franchise, the game added free exploration to the stealth and puzzle gameplay. Players can explore the vast and interconnected setting to look for other children. Doing so will also help you learn more about the villain. However, as mentioned, there will also be new enemies, called the Mini Rods. You must avoid or defeat these minions as they can alert Rod of your location.
Ice Scream 4 uses the same simple touch controls and first-person perspective. However, while there are new enemies and larger maps, the game is easier to complete than its predecessors. The puzzles you need to solve are still cryptic, but they are more solvable that you don’t need to use hints. Because of this, the game feels a little shorter than the other titles in the saga.
Is the game worth playing?
If you are a fan of the Ice Scream franchise, then Ice Scream 4: Rod’s Factory will be a good game to pick up. It has the same gameplay and simple controls as its predecessors. With this, everything will be familiar. The only thing you would have to adjust to is the new location and enemies. However, expect a shorter run time and easier-to-solve puzzles.
