Tiny Adventurer In Large World
Supraland is an adventure game created by Supra Games. The adventure game combines the puzzle aspect of Portal and exploration mechanics of Zelda and Metroid. Players travel inside of a child’s sandbox while solving puzzles and fighting hostile enemies.
More on Exploration and Puzzle, Less on Combat
Supraland takes the best aspects of classic adventure games like Portal, Zelda, and Metroid. Players take the role of a toy piece inside a child’s sandbox. The game world looks large even it’s just a scaled version of a sandbox. Players begin in a small community of toy pieces and various tasks will be given to them. Every location is interconnected with each other but they look very similar. There will be inaccessible portions but players can find ways to bypass them and come back later. They can find secret abilities and upgrades that will help them along the way. Coins are collectible for purchasing equipment upgrades. These upgrades will help them access hard to reach places and locked areas. Upgrades are found from shops. Players will be surprised that the abilities and upgrades have a lot of usages, as well as they can combine them for unimaginable effects. The game also features unique puzzles that require using specific abilities and upgrades. Puzzles range from straightforward challenges to complex and brain-teasing. The combat in this game is very simple. Players fend off enemies by melee attacks and ranged shooting. It is fast paced and no reloading so that players focus only on the horde of enemies. Strafing and jumping are similar to classic first-person shooters such as Doom and Quake which are action-oriented and exhilarating rather than the typical cover shooters.
Nostalgic Gameplay With Unique Puzzles
Supraland is a simple adventure game filled with puzzles and exploration. Combat is made simple so that users divulge more on the puzzles, but it feels that combat is unnecessary. Players can still enjoy the puzzles and exploration, as well as the basic plot.
