Free vampire overhaul mod

Sacrosanct – Vampires of Skyrim is a free vampire overhaul mod for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition. This mod overhauls both vampires and vampire lords found in the game. Players who turn into vampires become stronger when fed, gain new abilities and powers, and enjoy many other gameplay additions. This mod is available for download on Nexus Mod Manager.

Sacrosanct has no known mod dependencies other than the vanilla Skyrim. It also has a version available for Skyrim Legendary Edition. An alternate mod, Better Vampires 8.6 SE, has a compatibility patch to work alongside Sacrosanct. Other alternate overhaul mods include Supreme Vampire Lords and Sacrilege, Realistic Lighting Overhaul, Marriage Mod – To Have And To Hold Mod. 

Thirst and feeding system

As a vampire, you must feed or you will become thirstier and weaker. The Sacrosanct mod adds four thirst stages that progress every 24 hours without feeding. There’s an ability in your magic effects menu called Vampire that will let you know your thirst level: Sated, Thirsty, Parched, and Blood Starved. Once you feed, you will return to Sated no matter what stage of thirst you’re at.

New abilities added

As a vampire, Sacrosanct will give you different abilities, both beneficial and detrimental. An example of a beneficial spell is the Dominate ability. This ability allows Illusion spells cast as a vampire to be 25% more powerful and last 25% longer. A detrimental spell that players must change their playstyle to avoid is a vampire’s natural weakness to sunlight. Your health, magicka, and stamina won’t recover in sunlight. 

Vampire ranks

A new addition that Sacrosanct adds is vampire ranking. Work your way from fledgling vampire to elder Nightmaster to become both feared and respected by NPCs. Progression to the next rank is based upon how long you have spent as a vampire. You can increase your age by one hour by feeding on a person or by one day if you drain a victim. It takes 75 days to become a Nightmaster. 

Great addition for vampire players

Sacrosanct for Skyrim SE is a great mod for players who enjoy playing as a vampire and want to enrich their playstyle. You can live life as a vampire lord and gain perks unique to only vampires.
