A tricky free physics puzzle game
Bubble Ball is a physics puzzler, where you have to set up a screen so once gravity is applied a ball will reach the goal.
Created by a 14 year-old developer, Bubble Ball is a 21-level puzzle game. Puzzles range from incredibly simple to really challenging. Each level gives you a range of pieces and tools to lay out before you hit the Start button. As well as ramps and planks, there are gravity inverters and accelerators. They sometimes need to be very carefully place to make sure your ball hits the target.
There is very little explanation, leaving you to experiment with the tools you are given. This exposes one of the flaws of Bubble Ball – the controls. Moving the pieces isn’t as smooth or easy as it is in other games such as Cat Physics. The sound is also almost non-existent.
Although it’s a little fiddly, Bubble Ball presents more of a challenge than many more professionally produced puzzle games. If you’re tired of having your hand held throughout games, this will suit you.
