Battle neighboring kingdoms in a medieval fantasy setting
Kingdoms at War is a multi-player role play game app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch that allows you to create a medieval fantasy kingdom and protect it from enemies.
The interface on Kingdoms at War is relatively simple. Even if you’ve never played a role play game (RPG) before, helpful prompts guide you through the process. First you set up a user name, which is considered your online handle that other players know you as throughout the game. Then, choose between one of three Kingdoms at War kingdom banner options. Your kingdom can focus on war, defense, or stability.
Once you’ve set up Kingdoms at War’s basics you can start playing. Again, you will receive prompts to explore land near your kingdom. Once successfully explored, you can build different types of structures on it at a cost. If you have enough gold coins in your inventory, go ahead and build. If not, consider trying to get yourself hired by another user to complete a task or attacking another nearby kingdom so you can obtain loot.
Kingdoms at War offers a chat within the app itself, a nice feature that allows you to connect with people who need allies or hired help. Beware though. Allies can opt to spy on you for other allies, ultimately to your detriment.
One of the biggest problems with Kingdoms at War is simply that it often costs so much money to build new structures that they’re impossible to ever buy. Because there is no bank feature on Kingdoms at War to secure your in-game earnings, this opens you up to potential attack and ultimate monetary loss as a result.
For a fun game that’s RPG newcomer friendly though, Kingdoms at War is a good option.
