Assess your Wi-Fi network security with these free tools
Aircrack-ng allows you to asses the security of your Wi-Fi network with its suite of tools. The tools allow you to monitor, attack, test and crack. See just how good your Wi-Fi security really is. It works best on Linux, but may also be used on Windows, OS X, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, NetBSD, Solaris and eComStation 2.
It can be used for more nefarious reasons
The main reason why the Aircrack-ng was created was so that you may check the security of your own Wi-Fi network. However, if you were so inclined, you could turn the tools against another person’s Wi-Fi network and try to gain access with the tools. You will need a fair amount of hacking and programming skills to pull it off, but it is possible if you are so inclined to do so.
Not an easy program to use
This software is only for programming, security testing, and hacking experts because it requires a lot of programming skill to use it correctly and efficiently. It is a handy suite of tools for assessing the security of your Wi-Fi network, but you will need very good programming skills if you are using the Windows version. You will need the coding skills required to develop your own DLLs to link Aircrack-ng to your current wireless card. You cannot download them, and the software will not function without them. As a result, this software has a limited user base.
