Data migration utility by Verizon

Content Transfer is a productivity tool developed by Verizon Consumer Group for mobile devices. With this free application, users will have the ability to copy and transfer data from one mobile device to another with ease. It features cross-platform compatibility and has two methods available to try out.

Content Transfer works the same way as other data migration apps like SHAREit or iOS’ own Data Migration Toolkit. What makes it different is that it was made for subscribers of Verizon, a popular wireless network operator. It lets them easily transfer data between devices.

How does it work exactly?

Data migration is a tedious but important step that you need to take whenever you switch to a new mobile device. The process often requires installing multiple programs and utilities just to set up a way to copy and transfer everything over. If you’re a Verizon subscriber, though, your network operator provides an easier way to do all of this through its Content Transfer app.

First, install the Content Transfer app on your old and new devices. Open it on both, log in to your account, and be presented with two options. They are establishing a connection wirelessly or scanning a QR code to pair the two. As for the data itself, you can choose to transfer anything from your contacts to your messages and media. You can even copy over important calendar entries.

Once data migration begins, the next window will show the progress of everything that’s happening, including transfer speedstime left, and data size. There are things that need more work, though. Occasional connection instability results in interrupted transfers, or worse, getting canceled altogether. Also, note that this tool is only meant for Verizon subscribers as you will need your account.

Convenient data migration tool for Verizon users

All in all, the Content Transfer app by Verizon provides its users with a more convenient way to manage and migrate data from one device to another. It’s a process that is easy to set up, and outside some connectivity issues, works as intended. If you’re a subscriber and you will be changing phones, give this one a try. Recommended.
