Gunmen take on letters in team shooting
Alphabet Shooting: Escape Time is a free shooting game in which a team of gunmen must take on a team of weird alphabet letter characters. Much cartoon action ensues as the fighters on each side try to pick off their opponents one by one.
Despite being themed around the alphabet, this is not an educational app like Preschool ABC Number and Letter Puzzle Games. Instead, it is a first-person shooter similar to Fortnite. Although one-player only, its use of CPU characters adds a team play aspect.
Shoot the letters
Alphabet Shooting: Escape Time takes place in a strange cartoon world. All of your foes are anthropomorphic letters, and the background is a colorful suburban location. While the setting may be offbeat, the basic mechanics should be familiar to anyone who has played a first-person shooter before. The objective is simple — kill all of your enemies.
Change teams at certain levels
Note that the above applies only to levels where you play a gunman who kills letters. Certain levels put you in control of a letter character. Here, you’ll no longer be able to pick up weapons and must rely on hand-to-hand combat. The good news is that your character is stronger and can slay a gunman with one blow.
Choose your weapon
If you play as a gunman, then you’ll have a number of different weapons to choose from, plus you can pick them up off the battlefield. Short-range weapons include clubs, light sabers, and even stop signs. Long-range weapons include AK-47s, sniper rifles, and more. You can unlock more weapons by watching adverts.
Controls might take getting used to
Alphabet Shooting: Escape Time suffers from a fiddly control system, which you navigate by stroking an on-screen compass and firing automatically. The graphics are also basic. However, players who can look past these shortcomings might have fun with this free game.
