Record psychedelic videos

Tunnel Vision is an experimental app that allows you to add real-time effects to your smartphone camera and then save the results as a video. It is difficult to explain succinctly, but if I had to describe it quickly I would say “a simply crazy psychedelic camera”.

But what is this?

With Tunnel Vision you can create psychedelic videos by applying one of six different digital filters to your camera.

While the effects are all different, they are quite similar. The air filter is a kaleidoscope, while others add water effects, or add vibrant colors to the image.

In Tunnel Vision you can just play, applying effects to your camera or video. You can then share the results with your friends, who will then probably lose whole afternoons trying to work out what you are sending them.

I don’t know what it is, but it’s fun

Though an entertaining proof of concept, you should not expect too much of Tunnel Vision. Just play, experiment, and enjoy.

Effects can be changed by touching or swiping the screen. Almost all are based on movement, so you can play with this to create interesting compositions (like waving only your hand in front of the camera to create a swirling streak across a landscape). Your imagination is the limit.

Video vertical. Really?

Tunnel Vision may bean unfinished, experimental app – but it’s an entertaining one. It is more or less finished, but you can still see the rough edges.

For example, just as we thought social media was beginning to educate itself about the bad habit of vertical videos, Tunnel Vision has forced them upon us.
