Microsoft’s popular 2008 Office suite
Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac is the premiere office suite for users on both Mac and Windows. Although it has now been superseded by Microsoft Office for Mac 2011, Microsoft Office 2008 still remains a fantastic office suite.
It’s hard to know where to start when describing everything that Microsoft Office 2008 has to offer but highlights include the professional templates in Word’s Publishing Layout View, OfficeArt tools which offer reflections, color themes, and 3D tools. You also get impressive visual charts and diagrams you can create with SmartArt and integrate with any of the suite’s packages. Word is still the best and most intuitive word processing application out there in my mind and Excel remains popular with business professionals due to its power and formula creation possibilities.
As regards Microsoft Office 2008’s presentation tools, Powerpoint doesn’t really measure up to the glossy cinematic effects available in Keynote but it’s so widely used and still produces superb results that it’s excellent for team collaborations. Entourage, meanwhile, offers many possibilities for managing projects, personal schedules and offers integration with Exchange, and remains an essential component of Microsoft Office 2008.
Although many Microsoft products don’t successfully translate onto Mac, Microsoft Office 2008 is certainly an exception.
